I write regarding the front-page article, "An Insider's View of the APA Nomination Process," in the September 4, 1998, issue of Psychiatric News.

I wish Jeffery Metzner, M.D., would have written the article before his concern regarding APA's nominating process had been satisfied. I'm greatly disturbed that I have to read Psychiatric Times to find out any scuttlebutt on APA. Reading Psychiatric News leaves me with the false sense that APA is just one big happy family! I don't think that's responsible editorial policy. I hope you change.

There! Now that I've said that, I feel more like I'm part of a real family!
