Members of the APA Auxiliary may now purchase a subscription to Psychiatric News for $25, which is less than half the usual cost.
To obtain the reduced-price subscription, Auxiliary members must call APA's Circulation Department at (202) 682-6240 and give the following code: NAUX. Membership in the auxiliary will be verified by a customer service representative, who has a copy of the current auxiliary directory.
The request for the steeply discounted subscription was made by Alicia Muņoz, the spouse of APA President Rodrigo Muņoz, M.D. She noted that "the auxiliary has a new catagory of voting members who have joined to advocate for psychiatry and APA. Now that the auxiliary membership is growing and is increasingly visible as an allied organization, a tremendously important membership benefit is the discounted subscription to Psychiatric News. Access to the publication will provide our members with the tools necessary to carry out their work in state and federal legislation and keep current with clinical news and the work of APA members.
APA Medical Director Steven Mirin, M.D., agreed and approved her request.
