This is in response to the letter "Bizarre Symptoms" in July 3 issue. I fully agree with Dr. Virginia Sherr's observations. I also have seen an epidemic of tick-borne diseases presenting with a combination of psychiatric, cognitive, neurological, and physical symptoms. I and a number of other psychiatrists are preparing a position statement on the subject to request the formation of an APA committee to address this issue in more detail.
