How to Communicate with APA's PresidentBy Rodrigo Muņoz, M.D.APA President |
The life of an APA president is often one spent on the road. As many of my predecessors have reported to you on this page, the job entails travel to attend meetings of APA's Area Councils, district branches, allied organizations, and special activities (such as testifying on Capitol Hill) requiring APA representation. For me, the travel demands began while I was still president-elect. In April, for example, I was home only seven days.
This is not to lament the demands made on APA's president; in fact, I enjoy having the opportunity to meet as many members as possible and to bring APA's message to other organizations. But traveling does reduce the amount of time that I can spend communicating with you throughout the year. I do want to hear from you--this is one of my top priorities as your president. I invite you to let me know what's on your mind and communicate your ideas, questions, and concerns about your Association and your profession. To ensure that you get a prompt reply, however, I ask that you contact me through e-mail or through my message center on my Web site.
My e-mail address is rmunozmd@aol.com, and my Web site address is www.rmunozmd.com. If your message is less urgent or lengthy, you may prefer to fax me at (619) 298-4782.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with you throughout this next year.
