Krajeski Chosen New Editor in Chief of Psychiatric News

San Francisco psychiatrist James P. Krajeski, M.D., was selected by the APA Board of Trustees at a special February meeting to be the next editor in chief of Psychiatric News. Krajeski will succeed Robert J. Campbell III, M.D., who has served in that position for 15 years. Krajeski will take over the editorship on July 1, when Camp-bell's contract ends.

Krajeski brings to the position an extensive history of involvement in APA and other areas of organized medicine. He has been a member of the APA Assembly since 1983, including two years as a member of the Assembly Executive Committee. He has also served terms on the Joint Commission on Government Relations, Joint Commission on Public Affairs, and the Commission on AIDS, which he chaired for two years. He is a member of the Task Force on Strategic Planning, which is evaluating ways to reorganize APA and enhance its responsiveness to members and to issues affecting psychiatric care.

In addition to his APA experience, Krajeski has been active in the San Francisco Medical Society, serving on its Executive, Bioethics, Membership, and Legislative committees. He also chaired its Government-Financed Medical Plans Committee.
