Here's your dilemma: You know you want to bring your kids to family-friendly Toronto for APA's 1998 annual meeting, but who's going to look after them while you're attending scientific sessions or tied up in meetings?
You can sign up for APA's child care service and stop worrying.
The service will be located at the Royal York Hotel and run by KiddieCorp, a nationally established firm best known for its long association with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Bar Association. This is the same company that ran the successful child care program at last year's annual meeting in San Diego.
KiddieCorp's staff members are bonded, qualified child care specialists who are carefully selected and trained. In addition to ensuring your children are properly cared for, they'll provide age-appropriate games, souvenir arts and crafts projects, toys, and other entertaining activities to occupy children ages 6 months to 12 years.
The APA child care service will be available Sunday May 31, to Wednesday, June 3, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and Thursday, June 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for each child is $8.50 an hour, with a three-hour minimum.
Snacks and beverages will be provided, and lunches can be supplied by parents or arranged with KiddieCorp at check-in.
Parents of infants are asked to bring diaper-changing supplies, formula and baby food, and a change of clothes.
The preregistration deadline is May 1. After that date, KiddieCorp may not be able to guarantee accommodations for additional children. Space is limited, particularly for infants.
Further information may be obtained by calling KiddieCorp at (619) 455-1718; e-mail: apa@kiddiecorp.com.
