1998 Annual Meeting
Annual Meeting Poster and Essay Exhibit for Children Grades K-12

At the 1998 annual meeting in Toronto APA will host the eighth annual poster and essay exhibit for children or grandchildren of APA members. The theme for this year is "Our International Neighbors." APA hopes that you will ask your children or grandchildren in kindergarten through grade 12 to draw a picture or write a short essay on other cultures throughout the world. The deadline is Friday, March 27.

Exhibit Rules

  1. Eligible children must be in grades K through 12, and one of their parents or grandparents must be an APA member.

  2. Posters should not exceed 11" x 14" and can be in any medium-crayon, pencil, paint, finger paint, and so on. Essays should be written on letter- or legal-sized paper.

  3. Posters/essays should depict ways the child thinks he or she can help others, either in his or her own neighborhood or around the world.

  4. The child's first name, grade, and APA member's name must be put on the front of the poster or essay.

  5. Due to space limitations, only one poster or essay should be submitted per child.

This is not a contest. All children submitting materials will receive a certificate of appreciation for their participation and will be listed in an article in Psychiatric News. Posters and essays will be displayed in the APA Art Association Exhibit at APA's 1998 annual meeting, which is being held May 30 to June 4.

Send the posters or essays for receipt by Friday, March 27, to
