Update on Action
- During its October meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a full-time equivalent staff person to coordinate activities and services for members-in-training (MIT) and early career psychiatrists throughout APA.
- The recent difficulties that MIT’s have experienced in subscribing to GrassMITS (the MIT list serve) have been corrected. To subscribe, e-mail an empty message to start@mailrobot.com. If problems persist, contact Charles Price, M.D., at cprice@pol.net.
- During the November meeting of the Assembly, the following MIT-sponsored action papers were passed and now await action by the Board of Trustees:
- All residents who participate on APA components to be assigned a mentor from that component.
- APA to support nondiscriminatory licensure policy between international medical graduates and U.S. graduates.
- The deadline for applications for the 1998-99 American Psychoanalytic Association Fellowship is February 2, 1998. For more information, call (212) 752-0450, ext. 12.
