Assembly Candidates Announced

At its November meeting in Washington, D.C., the APA Assembly approved the slate of candidates who will compete for the Assembly’s two highest offices—speaker-elect and recorder.

Vying for the speaker-elect post will be Alfred Herzog, M.D., of Hartford, Conn., and Albert Vogel, M.D., of Albuquerque, N.Mex. Herzog is the Assembly’s recorder; Vogel is the representative of Area 7.

Candidates for the position of Assembly recorder are Peter Gruenberg, M.D., and R. Michael Pearce, M.D. Gruenberg, of Beverly Hills, Calif., is one of the representatives from the Southern California Psychiatric Society. Pearce, who is from Indianapolis, represents Area 4 in the Assembly.

The election will occur at the Assembly’s next meeting, which will be held in Toronto in May, just prior to the opening of APA’s 1998 annual meeting.
