Readings

I enjoyed seeing Dr. Eist's annotated reading recommendations in his president's column in the May 2 issue. As cautionary tales and recommended strategy for the problems of managed care, they seem like valuable references. I will plan to read those that I already haven't.

For the sake of fairness and balance, however, an ethical principle I hope APA still supports, our readership should also be apprised of books that may offer another perspective on managed care. In that spirit I refer readers to references in my recent work The Ethical Way: Challenges and Solutions for Managed Behavioral Healthcare (Jossey-Bass).
