APA's 1997 Annual Meeting
May 17 to 22, San Diego

Registration, housing, and leisure activities sign-up forms are included in the 1997 Advance Registration Information Packet, which was mailed to all APA members in January. If you have not yet received your packet, please call the APA Answer Center at (202) 682-6000.

Now!

  • Register in advance to save on registration and CME course enrollment fees and avoid waiting in long lines on site. If you register in advance, an identification badge will be mailed to you. All other materials will be available in the registration area upon presentation of your badge.

  • To avoid the potential disappointment of having your chosen courses fully subscribed, fill out the CME Course Enrollment Form and mail it today. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Remember, there will be no on-site enrollment for CME courses 1 to 6 presented on Saturday morning, May 17.

  • Order your copy of the American Psychiatric Press Review of Psychiatry: Volume 16 now. Books will be mailed in March, in time for you to review this material before the annual meeting.

  • Hotel reservations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure getting a room in the hotel of your choice, mail your housing form today (see page 9 in the Advance Registration Information Packet.)

    March

  • This is your last chance to register in advance for the annual meeting and CME courses. Send in your forms and fees now to save money and avoid the long lines on site.

    April

    Advance registration and CME course enrollment close April 7. All forms must be received by this date for you to be registered in advance and take advantage of the lower advance fees.

  • Remember to reserve space for your children in the day care program.

  • After April 7, absolutely no course refunds will be granted or changes in course selections permitted.

  • All requests for hotel reservations must be made with the APA Housing Bureau no later than April 15.

    Saturday, May 17

  • Registration and CME course enrollment areas will be open in the Convention Center Saturday through Thursday.

  • Publishers' Bookfair and APA Resource Center will be open in the Convention Center Saturday through Wednesday.

  • Local Arrangements Hospitality Suite will be open in the Convention Center Saturday through Thursday.

  • CME courses will be held at the Sheraton Saturday through Thursday.

  • Industry-supported symposia will be presented 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 18

  • Industry-supported symposia will be presented during the day and in the evening, with more evening symposia on Tuesday and Wednesday. There also will be five, three-day breakfast symposia, starting Monday morning at 7 a.m.

  • The Business Meeting will be held 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Convention Center.

  • The Opening Session and Presidential Address will be held 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt.

    Monday, May 19

  • Scientific sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 5 p.m. on Thursday.

  • Convocation of Fellows and the William C. Menninger Memorial Convocation Lecture will be held 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt.

  • Industry-supported symposia will be presented 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
