annual meeting

Housing Notice

APA is trying something new for this year’s annual meeting: Hotel reservations in New Orleans will be made using a lottery system. In past years members did not always receive the Advance Registration Information Booklet at the same time, allowing unfair advantage to individuals who received their forms first to have priority for hotel accommodations. APA is hopeful that the lottery process will provide all members equal opportunity to receive their first-choice hotel. The lottery closed February 1. If members who were eligible for the lottery are not informed of its results by early March, they are asked to call Gwynne Jackson at (202) 682-6079.

Housing requests are now being handled on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for obtaining accommodations is March 30. Housing forms can be obtained by going to APA’s Web site at <www.psych.org/sched_events/ann_mtg_01/f_individual_housing_form.pdf> or calling the APA Answer Center at (888) 35-PSYCH. In addition, phone reservations can be made directly with the APA Housing Bureau between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time by calling (800) 424-5250 within the U.S.; Canadian and international callers should dial (847) 940-2153.
