APA's Special Caucuses to Meet During Philadelphia Institute

APA members are invited to join any of its special-interest caucuses and attend the next round of caucus meetings in the fall.

The APA Special Caucus Program was developed by members to give colleagues an opportunity to come together, share information, discuss concerns, and identify strategies to address challenges in their practice settings. Six caucuses report to the Council on Psychiatric Services, one each for psychiatrists who work in state-hospital, VA, rural, and correctional facilities and psychiatrists who treat patients with eating disorders and mental retardation/developmental disabilities.

The caucuses will meet during APA’s Institute on Psychiatric Services in Philadelphia (see below for meeting times and locations). Psychiatrists do not have to be registered for a caucus to attend a caucus meeting; however, they must be an APA member to join a caucus.

All meetings will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott.

More information on the APA Special Caucus Program is posted on APA’s Web site at <www.psych.org/pract_of_psych/caucus_about.html>. APA members can join a caucus by clicking on "register online" or calling (202) 682-6092.
