Health Info on Web

Psychiatrists and their patients may find useful a computerized database containing bibliographies for thousands of patient-education materials on health topics. Called the Combined Health Information Database (CHID), it is produced by several health agencies of the federal government. The CHID database, which is searchable by topic, can be found on the Internet at <chid.nih.gov>. The CHID database on Alzheimer’s disease can be accessed directly at <www.alzheimers.org>. It is maintained by the National Institute on Aging.
