Thank You From the Family of Jeanne Spurlock, M.D.

The family of Jeanne Spurlock, M.D., wishes to extend its gratitude to the members and staff of APA for their tremendous outpouring of support during the time of the former deputy medical director’s illness and death.

Spurlock had been on APA’s staff for 17 years before her retirement in 1991. In addition to serving as a deputy medical director, she headed APA’s Office of Minority and National Affairs.

"While we would like to acknowledge each one personally, unfortunately, we have not been able to obtain the addresses of many of the colleagues and associates who were so thoughtful to Jeanne and to us," according to a statement from Spurlock’s sisters. "The many acts of kindness by individuals associated with APA—from the get-well cards, phone calls, and visits to the flowers, charitable donations, expressions of sympathy, and memorial service attendance—were extraordinary and deeply appreciated. They are a powerful tribute to Jeanne and to the active and caring community in which she was associated."
